What Is New Media?

A new media is any communication that is made through the use of computer technology or broadcast digitally. For example, if you’re buying newspaper to read the news, then you’re using the traditional media. But if you like to save the trees and read the news on the Internet, then you’re using new media. Simple right? Right.

Here’s list of New Media from webopedia.com…

  • Web sites
  • streaming audio and video
  • chat rooms
  • e-mail
  • online communities
  • Web advertising
  • DVD and CD-ROM media
  • virtual reality environments
  • integration of digital data with the telephone, such as Internet telephony
  • digital cameras
  • mobile computing

Power Defined by the Triple W's - by Ernie Chen

Getting noticed is such a necessity nowadays. More than ever before, individuals and organizations are digging at every nook and cranny of the traditional media world to acquire the most humble and cost effective form of publicity. Sure there is an escalating need to get noticed in order to survive competition; but have we fatally overlooked the power of the Internet?

In the increasing "savvy-ness" of today's global village, the Internet is the most feasible medium to promote an organization, a product and/or a service. Where else can you display your company's credentials, background and list of clientele without having to go through the strenuous process of faxing or snail mailing the documents? How else do you respond to the urgency of a client in obtaining the above information? By setting up your own website, of course.

An official corporate website hosts a great deal of information on the organization. Interactive features and speedy access further propels the feasibility of the Internet in living up to modern day requirements and strategically places the organization in a global environment.

The web and multimedia development services of DreamTalents Media aims to bring forth that global advantage to individuals and organizations across the industries.

Don't Stop the Juice - by Ernie Chen

The need for immense talent in the new age multimedia industry consistently becomes more and more of a demand today. Many entrepreneurs have turned to the amazing wonders of multimedia technology in their bid to boost businesses. Some have even seeked the professional consultation of renowned designers, programmers, producers and directors to revamp stale organizational concepts; even when they are packaged with hefty price tags. They simply can't get enough of the creative juice.

A brief observation has prompted me to conclude that this is an obvious case of the demand exceeding the supply. Design agencies and production houses all over Malaysia consistently face the dilemma of manpower shortage because when the demand for such talent increases, the creative professionals can easily leave the organization he/she is serving for another. The usual fuel for such decisions is without doubt the salary package.

DreamTalents Media is a provider of Creative Digital Communication Solutions in the Asian region. With a host of web and multimedia design as well as film and video production services, the young agency is currently on the lookout for hardworking freelancers to support their ever-expanding portfolio. Those whom are interested and possess the relevant experience and qualifications are invited to contact the agency. Details can be extracted from the official webpage.
